The “Focus on TOP” symposium is designed to address the rapidly evolving landscape of breast cancer management, which has shifted toward a personalized treatment paradigm. With advances in targeted therapies and biomarker development—ranging from circulating tumor cells (CTCs) to circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), next-generation sequencing, and multi-omics—the field demands collaborative, interdisciplinary solutions to harness these complex tools for clinical impact.
Leggi
It will feature presentations from key opinion leaders, highlighting cutting-edge research areas such as the CRD concept for CTCs in early breast cancer, next-generation sequencing applications to ctDNA, and the integration of CTCs and ctDNA as part of a sophisticated treatment algorithm in the advanced setting. Moreover, new approaches in interpreting cancer’s multifaceted relationship with the host will be discussed, such as role of the microbiota in modulating immunotherapy response or the incorporation of volatilomics, metabolism as part of novel biomarkers and screening strategies.
A centerpiece of the symposium is the PORTRAIT Workshop, an interactive, hands-on session held in Day 1 designed to foster active engagement with critical areas in bridging translational oncology to the clinic. The Networking Lunch, held on Day 2, is an integrated extension of the Day 1 Workshop, offering an informal but focused platform for brainstorming and in-depth analysis. Participants will join thematic discussion tables, each led by two expert mentors, to explore practical applications of the insights gained from Day 1. These structured discussions, featuring a diverse group of clinicians, researchers, and emerging leaders, aim to promote cross-disciplinary synergy and inspire new research collaborations, advancing precision oncology with an inclusive and equitable approach.
